Beauties of the garden

Apart from zinnias, we've also had an amazing sunflowers season recently. Countless of them in the garden. Our front yard was filled with lots of beautiful bright sunflowers. I have created picture collages of the photos taken throughout the season and would like to share them with you here.

As much as I enjoyed them in the garden, I felt compelled to bring them indoors. They added the sense of brightness and warmth into my living room.

I hope the sunflowers will brighten up your day. Till then.....

Zinnias

One of my favorite flowers in the garden. Their vibrant colours are just stunning.  Not only are they easy to grow with minimal hassle they make a pretty bouquet too. I've been growing zinnias for many years now, they are my "must have" flowers in the list. This year we have a bountiful of zinnias in the garden. Most are self seeded and some I planted from seed.

Fresh cut zinnias. Just pop them in a jar. They bunch up nicely.

A bouquet for my coffee table. Aren't they beautiful?

Till then.....

Feel good Thursday

We had a bit of rain this morning. It looks fresh and green outside after the shower. Love it!! I'm looking forward to a busy weekend in the garden and hoping for more rain too.
It's been a busy week for me. I deserve a little break and some comfort food. My ultimate comfort food is definitely ice cream. What's yours?

When I want comfort food, I buy Maltesers. I like all chocolates, but especially those. You can eat them, and because they're so light, you can convince yourself that they are not actually that fattening.

~ David Walliams

Have few scoops and feel good about it.
Lots of berries at the bottom and  more on top.

Happy weekend lovelies! Forget your worries and unwind. Till then...........

Living room

Nothing special, just my favorite room in the house. The room where I feel relaxed most. A place where I can let my creativity flow freely.
At first, this room was a little too much 'all white". And I thought I could use a few touches of color here and there. Here's a sneak peak into my living room.

A few of my favorite details.

There's nothing better than curling up with a soft, cozy throw.

A splash of yellow. My fresh cuts sunflowers from the garden. It feels summery.

I hope you all had a great weekend. Till then....

Garden joy

My first batch of cherry tomatoes, harvested early this morning. I figured that a quick and easy small bowl of salad would be great or my son who loves cherry tomatoes so much would just have them as snacks. This is what I love about gardening, there is always something pretty and tasty to bring home, to be enjoyed with my loved ones.

More will be ready for harvest in a day or so. Till then....

Hi

January is almost coming to an end. How time flies....I've been gone for 6 months.  And it has also been 6 months since my beloved dad left us. A long and much needed break from blogging world , trying to get through the toughest time in my life dealing with the unexpected loss.  I realized that time does not heal all wounds. I'm blessed  to be surrounded by people that I love, giving me strength to move on. I deeply miss my dad.
After a very long break, I found it's rather hard to ease myself back into blogging again. Feeling like a 'stranger' on my own blog. So, I thought a short entry would do for now.

The weather in our part of the world has been absolutely fabulous. It's not as cold as it has been last week. It's just fabulous and very inspiring at the same time. Utterly in love.

My favourite thing. I've been spending way too much time on Instagram lately. It's time to get my camera back to work again.
Till  then.... have a wonderful day.

Dried roses and memories

Who doesn't love roses?  It is a sad fact that they will eventually fade and can no longer hold their beauty. So what do you do with the roses that you received on special days or those cut from your garden.  Don't toss them away. I love to dry and press my roses and turn them into keepsake. Simple and easy way  to keep those memories alive till the last possible.

They look charming wherever you  display them.

The colors fade and they may no longer fill the air with their sweet scent but the memories remain.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Till then....

I'm off to visit Elaine at Sunny Simple Sunday.
