6th Birthday

Last week the world was crazy  busy talking about the Royal Wedding, whereas here.....in my little kingdom, we were having a party of our own, celebrating my princess's big day, she turned 6 on May 1st... happier and chattier than ever. She wanted a simple party with just mom, dad, brother and sister. Since she didn't want it big, I thought it would be wonderful to come out with something simple yet memorable and of course pink. Setting out the table was fun with the help of the birthday girl herself. Lots of pink...

Now..here goes the exciting moment that she's been waiting for...

Happy birthday Princess, we love you....

So many things, so little time

What a busy weekend we had especially when you have kids to entertain... There was a movie outing, baking and a birthday party. So many things with so little time.

First, a little something to share from my garden. My hubby and I just found out that the tree that has been in our backyard even before we moved here 8 years ago bares fruits that actually can be eaten. My hubby was told by a man that came to fix our house the other day. We were kinda surprised. Just a few days before that I saw the exact same fruits sold in the souq (market) and wondering what it actually was but never bothered to ask. I spend most of my time everyday in the garden and yet I didn't even noticed that we have it in our very own backyard. I guess I need to get to know my garden well. We called it a desert fruit. I'll try to find out the name later. The fruits are tasteless and I don't like it.

The desert fruits as we called it. When the fruits get too ripe and dry, the skins open and the seeds pop out and fall to the ground.

Apart from our new finding, It was Princess E's birthday on Saturday. She turned 5 on the 1st May. How cool is that. I was in labour pain on a Labour Day. A good reason to have a big celebration and of course she deserves to be treated like a princess on her special day.

Being a princess is every girl's dream. Princess E having her day, dressing up as a princess. Little does she know that she is always the princess of our hearts. Her birthday wish was that everyone in the family could be her best friends forever and every single day is her birthday. Happy Birthday sweety and may all your wishes come true....

He had a BLAST.

Today we are just lazying at home. A break that I need after spending an afternoon at the paintball arena yesterday, celebrating my Prince's birthday. Since he didn't want to have it indoor, so we thought paintball would be a great and fun outdoor game for him and his friends. As they get older they want something more adventurous. The weather was quite hot but that didn't kill their spirit. Kids just wanna have fun. Despite we had to wait for about 2 hours under the scorching hot sun for them, it was worth seeing the smile on everyone's face. They sure had a blast.

Missing those moments: dedicated to my prince

I can't believe he is 13. Where did the time go? My baby is a teenager now. He's growing much too fast. It seems like only yesterday I cradled him in my arms. He cuddled in my lap. Watching him played, witnessing his first step, his first word, the first smile and every little thing about him.
Being the first child, it's normal to have all the attention. Every parent would remember and capture those special moments. These moments won't last forever so we better enjoy them while they last.

I remember expecting my first child and living far away from my parent, pretty much relied on 2 amazing people that have made things easier for a new mom. I think most of us are quite familiar with Dr Miriam Stoppard's Pregnancy and Birth book and Dr Spork's classic bestseller 'Baby and Child Care'. These books were very helpful to me in facing all the challenges and responsibilities.

These books banyak berjasa to me.

I like this pic, when he was in Year 5. It was taken before the actual class photo session. Just being themselves.

Parenting is a never-ending learning process. Right now I'm facing another challenge, at times can be overwhelming for both parent and child. Dealing with the physical, intellectual, social and emotional growth. I don't really remember having problem dealing with the terrible twos, I guess it is because it went well for both of us and I hope this one is full of excitement. It is like a roller coster with the twists and turns but deep down I know everything will be ok.
I am once again up to the challenge.

Birthday Party

Finally.. it was over. Princess K's birthday party was held on Thursday last week. They had an awesome time that night. Even though a day before that they had a camping trip, spending a night in the desert, but everybody was so excited and energetic. The theme was purple and black. Not that easy tho, but I managed to find purple balloons, ribbons for decoration, purple plastic cups, plates, forks and spoons and few other things. Oh..and kebetulan I have scented purple candles too. To make it more lively and fun for the girls I arranged some games that involved dancing with cool and hip hop music. In the end I pulak yang kepenatan but it was worth it seeing the smile on Princess K's face. Happy birthday girl!

Poor Princess E. She got sick when she came back from school that day. She was extremely over-excited about the party but unfortunately for her... :(

But that didn't stop her from enjoying herself...Let's liiiiiimmmmbo!!!!. That's my girl ;).
