A single rose

When most plants wilted and died in this soaring temperature,  the garden turns dull and uninviting. All that's left is a  single bloom.

Let's take a closer look.
Such a beauty! Couldn't resist but to bring it inside with me.

And another new bud ready to pop up anytime soon.

Here it is in a bottle inside a bowl filled with rose petals.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.

  1. It is definitely a good idea to rescue that rose from the heat and enjoy it indoors rather than letting it dry up on the bush. It's very hot here and getting a bit dusty again.

I have prunes in the fridge that no one is eating. Lots of dates, too. I think I may need to make prune scones. Can I have your recipe?

    Have a great weekend. Tammy

  2. Suffia! As usual, your garden is is cottage perfection! :) I too, have only a few blooms left. The heat is just too much. But the roses really are the hardiest of the bunch. :)

Thank you for joining in for Fresh-Cut-Friday!

  3. Roses are a gift aren't they! That's too bad that your heat is already so intense that it's leaving everything wilted or dead. I have the exact opposite problem! We just had a frost warning and our temperatures are a bit lower than normal!

  4. We have been having lots of heat, too. Maybe you will get respite from the heat and your roses will come back!

  5. What a brave little bloom and bud to survive the heat! That makes it extra special. I know extreme heat and cold are so difficult for plants. You rose is beautiful and I'm glad you brought it inside and have given it a place to show it's beauty.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.

  6. Here in Mass. if it's not the cold it's the heat that takes over our beautiful flowers. If we ould only adjust the temps to our liking it would be a perfect season. The week ahead for us is going to be cool with rain..temps will be in the fifties and sixties..I have my hanging pots under cover to save them from so much rain! My roses (only a few) will be pelted with rain. :(
Your Rose looks so good I can almost smell it!

  7. It is indeed a beautiful bloom. How fabulous to have when all else is suffering in the heat. What a great idea to bring it inside.

  8. The single rose is beautiful~ especially with the contrast of of all the leaves and vines!

  9. Hi Suffia,
A tough beauty she is! I have been saving mine from the opposite fate too much rain, I would love to share!

  10. Hello ! our roses are only just starting to flower..I have been waiting so long ! the smell is so delicious and to bring them inside is such a treat. I hope you have more flowers soon or I shall have to send you some rain from England...we have plenty to spare !! Gail x
