Zinnias

One of my favorite flowers in the garden. Their vibrant colours are just stunning.  Not only are they easy to grow with minimal hassle they make a pretty bouquet too. I've been growing zinnias for many years now, they are my "must have" flowers in the list. This year we have a bountiful of zinnias in the garden. Most are self seeded and some I planted from seed.

Fresh cut zinnias. Just pop them in a jar. They bunch up nicely.

A bouquet for my coffee table. Aren't they beautiful?

Till then.....

It's party time at:

  2. So pretty! Are you still living in Qatar? I can't get anything to grow on my balconies this year. Everything is just rather stagnant for some reason. Have a great weekend Tammy

    1. Hi Tammy. I'm still living in Qatar. Living in this arid climate country really motivates me to have a lush garden that looks like it's growing in a misty country side. With the help of my gardener we transformed the sandy soil into healthy garden soil. It's been a lot of hard work but it really does pay off at the end :)
      Wish you a wonderful day.

  4. I love zinnias too, but have never started them from seed. How long does that take? I'd love to try it some year! Beautiful!

    1. Hi, Zinnias are absolutely gorgeous and easy to grow from seeds. It should take about 4-7 days for the seeds to germinate and will usually produce the first flowers about 8 - 12 weeks. Give it a try, and enjoy their beautiful blooms. Thank-you for dropping by and happy gardening :)

  5. Here from Fertilizer Friday. I too have a fondness for zinnias. My dad always had them growing in his gardens in Nevada when we were growing up. They were my favorites along with the snapdragons.

  6. out of three packages of zinnia seeds. I got 4 plants. I am saddened and may re-seed. I had bad luck with some of the seeds I ordered this year. I am also not so happy how the company I ordered from handled the issue! lol
